We have continually found words do not do complete justice to this lovely house. We have assembled a few images in order to help you understand our complete rapture in this place. I would really have to add sound files and a little video to give everyone a real sense of it because the place is part of a village and we have neighbors and noises and animals and birds and weather, all adding up to – well just take a little look

Dining Terrace There is a lovely dining terrace just off the kitchen. There is always a breeze here and the view is majestic and haunting.
Morning Light The morning light on the dining terrace is actually inspirational.
Flowers For The Terrace Bonnie and our cook Lourdes will arrange flowers for the house. So many lovely growing things are always available in the local markets.
First View This is the view as you walk in the front entrance. It promises so many things and welcomes you entirely.
Living Area The wide open space of the living area and the high windows and ceilings connect you with the outside views, yet make you feel welcome and protected.
Dining Area Again the sensational views from every part of the house. And a peek at the guest house.
Kitchen You can expect great things to happen in a kitchen as colorful and as happy as this one.
Master Bedroom Light pours into the Master Bedroom as the morning wears on.
View From Main Bedroom From the Master Bedroom, another great view out to the fountain and the mountains.
Master Bed The great bed, and the comfortable light of the day.

Main Terrace Outside the living area and the master bedroom is the Main Terrace and the singing fountain.
Mountain Views Also on the Main Terrace are places to relax and those wonderful mountains.

Guest House Terrace On the Guest House terrace is the essential hammock. As you relax there you can hear the sounds of the rushing river that runs right by the property.

Studio The downstairs of the Guest House is a wonderful studio space.
Studio View Which like everywhere else at El Refugio has a wonderful view. Yes, that's a pool out there and another terrace to relax on.

Musuem At Etla In the village of San Augustine Etla, they have converted an old textile factory into a contemporary art musuem and school. The adaption is brilliant. The architecture of the building and the art it contains are world class.
