And then after wandering around in the rain for a few hours, we stopped for lunch at Darjeeling Palace. It was the second time we had chosen an Asian restaurant and maybe the fourth or fifth time we had eaten Asian themed food instead of Japanese fare. There was a real harmony and an appreciation of Indian and other Asian cuisines in Japan. They seemed to be mad for curry, to the point that you could buy curry spice in blocks, like bouillon cubes, in the supermarkets and throw them into rice or soups.
